02 / The problem

Do any of these sound familiar?

If you've been running a countertop shop on QuickBooks, spreadsheets, group texts, and your memory — yeah. Same.

You're answering the same question all week.

"When's template?" "Did you get my approval?" "What's the total again?" You've answered Patel three times. Anderson twice. It's Wednesday.

The quote lives in four places.

Drawing's in one app. Pricing's in Excel. PDF went out from Gmail. Customer texted a change. Now you're not sure which version is current.

The team is working off different information.

Mike quoted Anderson for next Tuesday. Install crew is already booked next Tuesday. The office lead doesn't have a login, so she's been guessing all morning.

Half your job is remembering what you promised.

Anderson wanted eased edges. Or was it Patel? You'll figure it out when you pull up the quote. If you can find it.

Yeah, we built UpdatesPad for this. So the work is the only hard part.

03 / What UP does

Four parts. One pad. Built around how a shop actually runs.

Not a generic CRM with a stone skin. Every screen knows what a slab is, what a remnant is, and what "templated" means.

CRM & Pipeline

Quoting & Design

Slab layouts, seam planning, edge profiles, sinks, remnants. Send a real quote in minutes — not the weekend.

Jobs & Scheduling

Templating, fabrication, install — all on one board. Crews see what's next. You see what's late before the customer does.

Client Updates

Every customer gets a clean timeline of their job. Auto-posted from your pipeline. They stop calling. Mostly.

04 / Pricing

Priced per user
by the job.

Hire your third estimator. Bring the templater out of the field. Onboard your spouse. We don't care — you pay for the jobs that ran, not the logins.

05 / Built for the trade

Built for countertop shops, not adapted to them.

Most software treats your work like any other job. UP is shaped by it.

A real material catalog.

Quartz, granite, marble, quartzite. Suppliers, slab dimensions, edge profiles. Reuse it across every quote instead of retyping it.

The workflow the trade actually uses.

Lead → quote → approval → order → template → fab → install. Not a generic pipeline you have to bend into shape.

Approvals where they belong.

Customers sign off on seam placement, slab selection, and edge profile before the job moves forward. No “I thought you said eased.”

Quotes the customer can actually read.

A clean PDF with the layout, the line items, and a one-click approval link. Not a wall of cells.

06 / Client portal

One link. Everything your customer needs to see.

Every UP project comes with a clean, private client view. Approvals, photos, timeline, schedule — in one place. Customers see what's happening on their job without calling for it. You stop answering the same three questions.

  • 01

    Updates that post themselves.

When the pipeline moves, the customer sees it. You didn't have to send a thing.

  • 02

    No app to download.

Customers click a link in their email and they're in. No password to forget. No install.

  • 03

    Approvals on the record.

Seam placement, edge profile, slab selection — captured the moment the customer signs off. Not a screenshot of a text thread.

What counts as a “job” for pricing?
A job is a project that moves past the quote stage — meaning it became an actual order in UP. Quotes, leads, opportunities, and people in your CRM don't count against your job limit. Only the work that actually became real work does.
What happens if I go over my plan's job count?
We'll flag it before it becomes a problem and talk you through whether you've crossed a tier or you just had a busy month. We don't auto-bill you into a higher plan or cut off your account. We'd rather have the conversation.
Do you really not charge per user?
Yes. Every plan includes everyone in your shop — owner, estimator, office, templater, install crew. Same product, same access, no add-on fees. The only thing that scales with your plan is how many jobs your tier covers.
Can I import my existing customers and quotes?
Yes. You can bulk-import contacts and accounts from a CSV — the kind you'd export from QuickBooks, a spreadsheet, or another CRM. Quotes are typically built fresh in UP since the layout and pricing tools are core to the product, but historical customer data comes with you.
Does UP replace QuickBooks?
No. UP works alongside QuickBooks. When a job goes to invoice, UP pushes the customer and invoice details into your QuickBooks account so you're not retyping anything. The accounting still lives where it lives.
How long does setup take?
A working shop is typically up and running on UP in days, not weeks. We help you import your data, configure your pipeline, and walk through the layout tool. There's no implementation fee and no specialist required.
